Paolo Bellini is the founder of indoor skiing in Australia and now co-director of Vertikal. Paolo is a full-certified ski instructor and race coach. He is a member of APSI (Australian Professional Snowsports Instructors) and ISIA (International Ski Instructors Association) and former member of PSIA (Professional Ski Instructors of America).
Paolo has more than thirty years experience in the skiing industry, teaching and coaching in the United States, Europe and Australia. He holds a diploma of sports psychology, and sports nutrition, and is a qualified fitness trainer. Paolo provides a holistic approach to snow sports, incorporating mental and physical health and fitness.
His personal passion is to enable skiers and boarders of all levels to improve their skills and enhance the enjoyment of their snow experience. Having studied the physiology and mechanics of skiing techniques over many years, Paolo is uniquely positioned to assist with the skill development of his clients.
Paolo believes that a focus on client satisfaction – seeing results and evident enjoyment of the sport – is critical. This dedication to his clients is evident in Paolo’s repeat client base. Further, his extensive on-snow competencies are complemented by an in-depth knowledge of indoor skiing.
As director of snow sports at Vertikal snow sports, Paolo is involved in all aspects of the development of Vertikal. Paolo is the only qualified examiner of the Maxxtracks ski and board simulator in Australia. He is also the author of the go-to manual, “Professional Indoor Ski/Snowboarding Instructors of Australia (PISSIA)”
Charlotte Ostor is a corporate communications professional with more than ten years experience in both Australia and the United States. She is now co-director of Vertikal.
Charlotte worked in New York City for six years where she crafted communications initiatives for publicly listed companies, with a particular focus on investor relations. In addition to providing strategic counsel within the Financial/Corporate Communications Practice of GCI Group, a worldwide communications organisation, Charlotte created a niche role specialising in financial media relations, developing successful PR strategies to build corporate brands and increase visibility within the investor community.
Charlotte obtained a postgraduate diploma in business from the University of Melbourne Business School, and completed a bachelor of arts from Monash University. A life-long skier and snow lover, Charlotte raced at intervarsity level, and has skied in resorts throughout Europe, north America, and Australia/NZ. Further, her children are involved in the NSW interschool snowsports competition. Charlotte manages the day-to-day operations of the Centre.
Jonathan Rees is an outdoor adventure professional, specialising in teaching snowboarding, white water kayaking, canoeing, and mountain biking. In addition to his role as a snowboard instructor at Thredbo resort, Jonathan’s extensive experience in adventure activities includes segway, river sled and mountain bike instruction at Lake Crackenback resort, as well as teaching outdoor activities at Action Learning Initiatives in Jindabyne, NSW.
Jonathan is a qualified personal trainer and has also worked in mountain operations at Thredbo resort, and operations at outdoor adventure events company, Maximum Adventure.
Originally from the UK, Jonathan completed a Bachelor of Science from the University of Salford, Manchester.
Jonathan provides a key role for Vertikal, heading up our snowboard team and developing the snowboard programme. He will also supervise cross training initiatives to support and complement snow sports training.
